ZEE5 is coming up with a sci-fi show ‘Bhanwar‘, that revolves around the latest fad in the science fiction realm – that of time travel. Ever since Netflix’s time travel science fiction thriller ‘Dark’ became a super duper hit, it has become the new in thing in sci-fi thriller shows.
However, Bhanwar is a sci-fi show with a difference. It has been shot completely in lockdown, amidst strict movement restrictions! The series has been conceived, written and executed by popular heartthrob Karanvir Bohra, under the Covid-19 lockdown. He also plays the lead role of Ranvir Makhija in the series. Wife Teejay Sidhu plays primary antagonist Samantha in Bhanwar. Actress Priya Banerjee plays his wife Kanika Makhija. Mantra also plays a crucial role in the series.
Bhanwar centres on a young couple that shifts into a new home, only to find inexplicable events happening around them in their new premises. The story then turns towards time travel and the couple watch their future selves murdered. The couple is against a race against time to save themselves from the bizarre situation. The title of the series, Bhanwar, is taken from the time travel gadget that transports them into the future.
Karanvir Bohra shot the entire 8 episode series in his own apartment and in another apartment in his building which he rented for the sole purpose of filming the series. Bhanwar premieres on ZEE5 on 18th August.
