Zee5’s ‘BREAK POINT’ Trailer Out: Untold Tale Of Paes & Bhupathi

By Binged Bureau - Sep 17, 2021 @ 02:09 pm

Director duo Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and husband Nitesh Tiwari in their first ever collaboration together bring us ‘Break Point‘, the story of two legendary Indian tennis players Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi. The intriguing, untold story of ‘Lee-Hesh’, from Bromance to Breakup, marks the directors’ first OTT Sports web series and collaboration with Zee5 under their banner Earthsky Pictures. ‘Break Point’ is a 7-part series based on the iconic on-court partnership and off-court camaraderie between these two living legends, a glimpse of which we see today as the much-awaited trailer drops.

‘Break Point’, that had been making waves ever since news of the show broke out, takes you on a nostalgic, emotional ride through the lives of two people who put Indian Tennis on the World Map. The inspiring journey through the show will see many questions that fans had regarding the Lee-Hesh relationship and breakup answered. The docu-drama series has been shot as a special behind-the-scenes narrative on the duo, that will finally put speculations to rest, as the sports heroes Paes and Bhupathi, get candid about each other and honestly tell the world what happened and why. ‘Break Point’ will not only construct their epic matches together, but also deconstruct their camaraderie, both on and off the court. The 2 minute trailer ends giving you goosebumps as the duo are asked whether they would do it again given a chance. While Mahesh says yes, his idol-turned-mentor-turned-friend-turned-foe Leander, says no.

‘Break Point’ is a bare-all tale on their brotherhood, partnership, dreams and ambitions, that made these champions one of the most feared doubles pairs during the late 1990s. The Grand Slam winning duo, who even ranked world number 1 in 1999, throw light on their bitter breakup and how they haven’t been able to reconcile as yet. Above all, it’s a story of ‘dysfunctional love’ as they put it, and of two friends, who planned for success, but unfortunately, not for life after success. The series premieres on Zee5 on 1st October in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
