‘Satya’ actor Manoj Bajpayee has been in terrific form recently and is still riding high after his critically acclaimed performance as a prosecuting lawyer in the gripping legal drama movie ‘Sir Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ and prior to that in Disney+ Hotstar’s family drama movie ‘Gulmohar’.
The National Film Award winning actor is gearing up for some eagerly anticipated films and series. The list includes Raj & DK’s spy thriller ‘The Family Man Season-3’, Abhishek Chaubey’s Netflix thriller ‘Soup’, Kanu Behl’s journalism thriller ‘Despatch’, and another thriller flick ‘Joram’.
Another film starring Manoj Bajpayee is also in the works and that is the sequel to the Zee5 murder mystery movie ‘Silence… Can You Hear It?’, which was released directly on the OTT platform in 2021. And as per the latest update (via Mid-Day) about the sequel, ‘Silence 2’ has now kicked off its filming schedule in Mumbai city. ‘Silence 2’ is slated to wrap filming later this year in the month of September. So, a release date of 2023 end or early 2024 can be expected.
In the parent film ‘Silence’ helmed by Aban Bharucha Deohans, Manoj Bajpayee essayed the role of an astute cop ACP Avinash Verma, who is handed over the case of the mysterious murder of a retired judge’s daughter. As the senior cop begins to investigate the case, he begins to suspect the involvement of an influential person but there is more to the story than meets the eye in this whodunnit.
Besides Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role, ‘Silence’ also featured Prachi Desai and Arjun Mathur in important roles and both these actors are expected to reprise their roles in the sequel as well. ‘Silence 2’ will see Manoj Bajpayee’s character investigate a new case, but the setting would be the same as the parent film. We recommend all Manoj Bajpayee admirers and fans of the whodunit genre to watch the first film ‘Silence’ on Zee5 in case you still haven’t.
