When ZEE5 had announced its new Original web series, Chargesheet — The Shuttlecock Murder, it had created tremendous buzz in social media circles, courtesy its intriguing plot, revolving around an audacious crime committed in the eighties.
The web show, however, failed to keep its date with its original premiere, which was earlier announced as 10th December.
This morning, ZEE5 announced a new date for the premiere of the show on its official Twitter account, and it is 1st January 2020. The show also has a modified name — it is now called ‘The Chargesheet’.
So yes, we can start the New Year with an intriguing narrative to watch, to keep our binge-watching appetite satiated.
The 8-episode series is inspired by true events, and narrates the story of the greatest Indian badminton champion that could have been, before his life was cut short by a crime of passion.
A thrilling courtroom drama forms the core of the series.
There is no official word from the OTT platform confirming the fact, but prima facie, the premise appears to have been inspired by the sensational Syed Modi murder case of the eighties.
The series features a stellar star cast, including Arunoday Singh, Tridha Choudhury, Shiv Panditt, Hrishita Bhatt, Ashwini Kalsekar, Kishori Shahane, Shakti Anand and Sikandar Kher in prominent roles.
The Chargesheet drops on ZEE5 on 1st January 2020.
