The Bluff has been one of the most anticipated movies for all the streaming platforms out there. In an intense bidding war amongst all, Netflix successfully bagged the rights for the movie in the auction for the same. Now comes the news of who will be headlining the movie. Well, it has been confirmed that Zoe Saldana will be essaying the lead role for the movie and the deals have been signed.
Guardians of The Galaxy star Zoe Saldana will be portraying the role of Ercell, a Caribbean woman. Set in the 1800s, the movie will be showing the audience the Cayman Islands from those early years and the changes it faced under various invasions. The story will follow Saldana’s character as she struggles to fight her past and also the pirates that come to invade her islands
The film is planning to add actions and elements of history to match the atmosphere of the bygone era that will be represented in the movie. The parts of history will be really essential, as the Caribbean has seen a lot of changes over the centuries under the influence of various colonists and invaders.
The movie is being produced by Anthony and Joe Russo, along with Mike Larocca and Angela Russo-Ostot for ABGO. The movie is also in need of a strong second lead female and no other actress has been finalised for the movie yet. The movie will be directed by Frank E. Flowers, while he also teams up with Joe Ballerini for the script writing.
If people remember, Zoe Saldana earlier was part of the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl”. She played the role of a pirate in the film but due to the bad time she had on the sets for the film, she didn’t return for the sequels of the movie. This will also be the second time that she will be under the direction of Frank E. Flowers. Both worked on the movie “Haven” before this.
