Zombie K-Drama “Happiness” Is Finally Coming to Netflix!

South Korea and Zombie Apocalypse is a match made in Heaven. Netflix original “All of us are Dead” trends in India almost everyday. The show had been breaking and making records akin to it’s predecessor Squid Game. Sweet Home, another monster-genre series has gained a loyal fan-base worldwide and a sequel is in the works on Netflix after it’s success. Now we have another Zombie Apocalypse K-Drama coming to Netflix. The show is none other than “Happiness” (2021).

This South Korean television series is an Apocalyptic thriller that takes place at a time when infectious viral diseases have become a norm. Scarily enough the premise is a reiteration of the covid-19 viral outbreak that pushed the world to it’s knees. Add to that we have zombies too. The show was a smashing success in South Korea and now with Netflix acquisition we can expect another cult favourite in the making.

Happiness takes place in current times where a failed Covid-19 treatment drug “Next” causes a worldwide pandemic known as the Rita Virus, a.k.a “mad person disease”. Those infected by Rita experience bloodlust and hyper levels of insanity before completely regressing into a zombie. The South Korean Military and Police forces try to contain the spread of Rita Virus through investigation and quarantine while people get to streets believing infected people are capable of human interactions too. Unlike “All of us are Dead”, “Happiness” is not just a survival thriller but also a survival drama that focuses more on relationships, human nature and the double-edged-sword that is humanity after all.

Happiness stars Han Hyo-joo, Park Hyung-sik and Jo Woo-jin. The 12 episode series will start streaming on Netflix worldwide on April 6,2022. This series is one solid recommendation from us. So set your clocks ready.
