Zombie K-Drama ‘Happiness’ on Netflix Seems to Have Won Over Indians!

Zombie Apocalypse is one of South Korea’s favourite genres in entertainment. It’s not been long enough since Netflix original “All of us are Dead” hit headlines worldwide. Sweet Home, another monster-genre series has gained a loyal fan-base to set off a sequel on Netflix. The Zombie Sageuk genre Netflix Original ‘Kingdom’ (two seasons so far) doesn’t even need an introduction. Now we have another Zombie Apocalypse K-Drama trending on Netflix India Top 10. The show is none other than “Happiness”.

The show started streaming on Netflix India and worldwide since April 6th and hasn’t left the trend-list since. Quite rightfully so. The show is equally rocking the charts along with K-Drama land’s recent obsession ‘Business Proposal’. This goes on to show that a well made Korean drama, especially a zombie-drama or a thriller or a rom-com will always find an audience in India provided it’s available to stream and Thanks to Netflix we have this wonderful show at our expense to watch now.

This South Korean television series is an Apocalyptic thriller that takes place at a time when infectious viral diseases have become a norm. Scarily enough the premise is a reiteration of the covid-19 viral outbreak that pushed the world to it’s knees. Add to that we have zombies too. The show was a smashing success in South Korea and now is a hit in India too.

Unlike its predecessors “Kingdom”, “Ashin Of North” and “All of us are Dead”, “Happiness” is not just a survival thriller but also a survival drama that focuses more on relationships, human nature and the double-edged-sword that is humanity after all. Happiness is not only critically acclaimed for its writing but also for the lead actor’s chemistry and acting. The 12-episode series stars Han Hyo-joo, Park Hyung-sik and Jo Woo-jin.

We couldn’t help but think how terribly done was Netflix India’s Zombie series ‘Betaal’ that came out last to last year while discussing zombie dramas. But luckily South Koreans dont come to play. Anyways, ‘Happiness’ is a solid recommendation from us. Do check it out.
