Zombieland Helmer Ruben Fleischer To Direct ‘Now You See Me 3’

Ruben Fleischer has been tapped to helm ‘Now You See Me 3’. Lionsgate has confirmed this news officially.

Fleischer is not a stranger to prominent film franchises. He has directed both entries of the Zombieland franchise, Marvel’s Venom, and Sony’s Uncharted.

Lionsgate kicked off the ‘Now You See Me’ franchise in 2013 with Louis Leterrier at the helm. On the other hand, Jon M. Chu directed the sequel (2016). Both entries have collectively grossed nearly $687 million at the box office. The franchise features notable talents like Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and many more. Brian Tyler has composed the score for both films.

The upcoming entry will be produced by the duo of Alex Kurtzman and Bobby Cohen for Secret Hideout. Chisom Ude and Meredith Wieck will oversee the production for Lionsgate.

Fleischer revealed his feelings about Lionsgate’s announcement, “There are three things in this world I absolutely love… Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and magic. To have the chance to work with these two talented actors, as well as the rest of the incredible cast of the Now You See Me movies is a dream come true. I am a lifelong fan of heist movies – I love getting drawn in by the twists and the mystery where nothing is what it seems. And that’s even more true when the thieves are magicians – the opportunities are endless. Eric was able to unlock a fresh and exciting way into a new movie and fun new characters, so I’m excited to dig in even further.”

Ruben Fleischer has also executively produced Superstore (2015-21), American Housewife (2016), Santa Clarita Diet (2017), and more. Both ‘Now You See Me’ movies are available on Netflix. Stay tuned for more updates.
