Recently, Prime Video India introduced ads on their existing plans. If users want to experience ad-free streaming, then they must pay an extra ₹699, which seems a bit extra for a market like that of India. On top of that, there are device limitations which are killing the budget. In the past two to three years, we have experienced a lot of restrictions by Prime Video and all platforms in general. They have introduced more ads, and we now have severe restrictions on the way we share our devices.
Back in 2022, a group of friends could easily share the subscription fee and enjoy an ad-free watching of shows, but it looks impossible now due to several restrictions. Prime Video is bearing the brunt of subscribers due to the recent introduction of ads, plus the unfair device limitations. The users can log into 5 devices, and they can log into those 5 devices only. They are having trouble registering new devices due to this policy.
The problem is, users must have the independence to watch on whichever devices they want after they have paid the subscription fee. Companies can’t dictate every possible thing after users are paying them. This policy of Prime Video is harsh, and it can’t be justified in any possible manner.
