Another Streaming Fail: JioHotstar Goes All Dark

JioHotstar is once again under fire from football fans.

After struggling with streaming glitches during the Liverpool vs Bournemouth clash, where many users, especially on MacBooks, couldn’t even access the match, the platform now finds itself in fresh controversy. This time, it’s the visuals that are being called out.

Viewers are frustrated with a strange dark overlay on the main broadcast of Premier League matches. The main camera feed looks unusually dull and washed out, making the on-field action far less engaging. Ironically, alternative camera angles appear fine, which only highlights the inconsistency.

What’s worse is that this issue persists across multiple devices, phones, laptops, and even smart TVs.

For a platform that promotes itself as the “home of sports,” such lapses are more than just minor annoyances. They actively downgrade the viewing experience for loyal subscribers who are already paying a premium.

Fans have taken to social media, tagging JioHotstar and demanding either the removal of this unnecessary shade or at least an option to control it manually.

And all they got was silence.

Coming off the back of the recent streaming access issue, JioHotstar’s troubles with Premier League coverage raise serious questions about its technical preparedness. Football fans don’t just want access, they want quality. Right now, Hotstar is failing to deliver on both fronts.
