Times Prime is a new venture that is creating a space where we can get offers, discounts and membership for multiple platforms at one place. The platform comes with one membership subscription of about ₹1000+, and in return, being a member of Times Prime, one gets free access to 20+ OTT platforms like Disney+ Hotstar, Sony LIV, YouTube Premium etc. Apart from these, we also get offers and discounts to be used in various platforms like Swiggy and Myntra.
But recently multiple complaints of the platforms are being observed in various platforms (specially in X). People are complaining how even after paying for the subscription of Times Prime, the Sony Liv subscription was not activated. In some cases, the subscription after being activated (for a period of 6+6 months) expires instantly.
In some cases even after purchasing the Times Prime Membership, the subscription of Sony LIV is not activated. Even after the consumers wait for multiple days, the subscription is not activated, this has frustrated multiple users of the platform. Even after complaining about the issue, the users see no significant result or the issues being resolved.
This issue is ruining people’s experience with Sony LIV. Even after paying a large sum for Times Prime subscription, they still struggle to watch premium content on Sony LIV. People have even started tumulting Sony LIV along with Times Prime after being frustrated with the issues they faced. People have gone as far as to call both the platforms as frauds.
The issues related to Sony LIV and Times Prime have not only hampered the reputation of Times Prime, but also of Sony LIV. Already people were frustrated with the problem they faced on the platform while watching KBC, and now with another problem, people might start losing trust on the platform.
In the competitive market of streaming services, Sony LIV is one of the leading platforms in India. But such issues and bugs in the platform will earn it a bad name. This will also affect the future deals they will sign, as makers will tend to avoid choosing the platform to stream their content learning of the frequent problems faced by the users in the platform. Times Prime did not have a good enough name in the market for itself, and with the issue people are facing with it, it seems the platform will lose the small name it had built up till now.
Hence, the bugs and issues Times Prime is coming up with, it will surely lose the market it has built up till now. With the issues the platform has with Sony LIV, the latter too will gain a bad name and will get affected majorly by it.
