First Official Word on Jana Nayagan OTT Release

The much-awaited film Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, has been facing repeated delays, leaving fans confused. The film was first planned for a Pongal release on January 9, but it did not make it to theatres due to issues with censor certification. A later attempt to release it in March also failed, and since then, there has been no official announcement about a new date.

As the delay continued, rumours started spreading that the film’s OTT deal had been cancelled because it missed its theatrical release deadline. This created concern about whether the film would still release on streaming platforms.

However, Zee5’s Koushik Narasimhan has now clarified that these rumours are not true. He explained that the OTT deal has not been finalised yet because the theatrical release date itself is still undecided. He also said that the usual gap between theatre and OTT release is not a major issue and will be planned later.

The delay is mainly linked to censor-related issues. There are also reports that the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections could be affecting the release timing.

Jana Nayagan is directed by H Vinoth and features a strong cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Prakash Raj. The film is especially important as it is expected to be Vijay’s last before he moves fully into politics. Fans are now waiting for an official update on when the film will finally release.
