Hari Hara Veera Mallu: New OTT Cut Can’t Escape Trolls

Hari Hara Veera Mallu is one of those films that has turned into a never-ending story of disappointment. When it was first announced, the hype was huge. A big star like Pawan Kalyan, a massive budget of around ₹300 crore, and promises of a grand historical adventure with sequels promised had fans expecting something unforgettable. But when the film finally hit theatres, the response was underwhelming. It opened poorly at the box office and could not recover even after multiple weeks.

In an attempt to save it, the makers tried to re-edit the film. Some scenes were cut after its theatrical release, but that didn’t change much. The same strategy was applied again when the film came to OTT, with nearly 15 more minutes chopped out. But yet again it failed to help the film in any way.

On social media, audiences have not held back their criticism. People are calling out the poor direction, weak storytelling, and disappointing VFX. Many feel that such an expensive film should at least have delivered on a visual level, but even there it falls short. The general mood is that the film is not just a letdown but also a waste of money and effort, considering the sky-high budget that went into making it.

What makes this failure stand out even more is the fact that it was meant to be a landmark project. Instead, it has ended up as a cautionary tale about how hype, money, and star power alone cannot guarantee success if the content isn’t strong.
