Shark Tank India Season 4 is currently streaming on SonyLIV. It is a lot different than the first season…how?
We are not talking about the changes in jury etc. We are simply talking about the way it used to stream. Earlier it used to air on TV as well as stream on SonyLIV.
From this Season onwards, it will be exclusively OTT. This move is not going well with many people, as they simply don’t have the need to purchase a SonyLIV subscription.
Although the platform is one of the largest in India with around 30 million subscribers, it is still nothing compared to the Sony TV channel which has a reach of almost 700 million households.
This is causing a massive decline in the views of the show. More importantly, there are about 8+ ads in every episode which is highly annoying for the paid users.
This is causing a big time harm to the show and even the brands are not getting the kind of visibility they used to get in the previous three seasons. As a result the decision to remove Shark Tank India from TV entirely was a bad idea. Let’s see if the makers shift the show back to TV again.
Most important conclusion: OTT is still premature in replacing TV.
