With the recent success of her action drama feature ‘Devara: Part One’, as it conquers not only Indian markets, but also overseas, actress Jahnvi Kapoor has become quite the talk of the town. So much so that it seems to have impacted the viewing statistics of her latest Netflix release ‘Ulajh’.
The film, which had a theatrical release back in August, was a complete box-office disaster, having reportedly amassed only Rs. 11 Crore at the worldwide box-office. This was not because it had faced fierce competition at the box-office as it had released parallel to the Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’, which was a box-office bomb of equal measure.
However, now, with its premiere on Netflix, ‘Ulajh’ has garnered nearly 2M views already! Considering that the runtime of the film is around 110 minutes, this translates to the fact that the film has been watched more than 18,000 times since its drop on the platform 5 days ago.
At this rate, the film will cross its theatrical viewing numbers before the end of this week. Which is to say, it seems as though it was a strategic move to let the film have its OTT debut in accordance with ‘Devara’s debut in theatres on September 27. But what can be said? It seems to be working just fine.
