Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, has made its digital debut on Netflix today, August 27, 2025, just weeks after its theatrical release on July 31. Fans were eagerly waiting to see if the streaming version would include the much-talked-about missing song Hridayam Lopala and a colorful carnival fight sequence. Both had been hinted at earlier, but neither found a place in the Netflix cut, which has left many viewers disappointed.
Producer Naga Vamsi explained the absence of the romantic song, saying it did not suit the intensity of the film, though he admitted that fans may have simply wanted to watch Vijay in a lighter, romantic space. Some hope the makers might release these missing pieces as deleted scenes on YouTube in the future, but expectations remain very low.
The movie features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, while Satyadev plays Vijay’s brother and Malayalam actor Venkitesh takes on the role of antagonist. The cast also includes Rohini, Bhoomi Shetty, Ayyappa P Sharma, and Goparaju Ramana. The music was composed by Anirudh, with production handled by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya.
In the story, Vijay plays a committed constable who is sent on a dangerous mission in Sri Lanka to rescue his brother, but he soon discovers shocking truths that complicate his journey. Kingdom is designed as the first part of a duology, and the director has already revealed plans for an OTT prequel that will explore the backstory of one of the main characters.
