Netflix India 2026 Slate: Ikka, Hum Hindustani, Legacy, & More

Yesterday, on February 3, 2026, Netflix India turned the spotlight on Mumbai to unveil its most ambitious content slate to date. Marking a decade of operations in the country, the streaming giant announced a massive lineup of 11 films and 19 series for 2026, signalling a definitive shift toward high-stakes spectacles, star-led dramas, and a significantly expanded regional footprint.

Here are the highlights of Netflix India’s 2026 slate!

Ikka

The most buzzed-about announcement at the event was Ikka, a high-octane legal drama marking the reunion of Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna nearly three decades after Border. Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, the film features Deol as an incorruptible lawyer forced to defend a murder accused (Khanna), the very man whose career he famously destroyed years prior.

Family Business

The star power continues with Family Business, a corporate thriller from director Hansal Mehta. Starring Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma, the series explores a ruthless succession war within one of India’s largest conglomerates, promising a “no holds barred” look at legacy and betrayal.

Ghooskhor Pandat

Manoj Bajpayee goes rogue in Ghooskhor Pandat, a single-night thriller directed by Ritesh Shah and produced by Neeraj Pandey, where a corrupt cop finds himself entangled in a global conspiracy.

Hum Hindustani

Netflix is also leaning heavily into stories that reflect India’s national identity. One of the tentpole projects is Hum Hindustani, starring Saif Ali Khan and Pratik Gandhi. Set in the fragile years following Independence, the film chronicles the Herculean administrative task of conducting India’s first general election.

Operation Safed Sagar

For fans of military drama, Operation Safed Sagar will bring the untold story of the Indian Air Force’s role in the Kargil War to the small screen. This one stars Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Siddharth, Prajakta Koli, and more.

Hello Bachhon

Hello Bachhon, led by Vineet Kumar Singh, traces the rise of the edtech movement in India, inspired by the real-life journey of Physics Wallah’s Alakh Pandey.

This becomes India’s first-ever anthology series to get a third season, featuring a powerhouse directorial team including Kiran Rao, Vikramaditya Motwane, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj.

Lock Upp

In a surprising move, Netflix also announced the acquisition of the captive reality sensation Lock Upp. Previously on a rival platform, the show will return in a “New Netflix Avatar” produced by Ektaa Kapoor.

Talaash: A Mother’s Search

Parineeti Chopra makes her highly anticipated return to streaming in a haunting mystery thriller that features a stellar ensemble, including Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Jennifer Winget, Tahir Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Dhruv Chowdhary, and Sumeet Vyas. The project is the brainchild of Rensil D’Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, with D’Silva serving as both writer and director.

Kartavya

In another high-stakes project for the streamer, Saif Ali Khan teams up with Rasika Dugal for a gripping crime drama. Khan steps into the boots of a law enforcement officer pushed to his absolute breaking point.

According to the official synopsis, the film follows an officer who must navigate a precarious moral landscape, forced to choose between his professional oath and the survival of his loved ones as violent threats begin to circle his home.

Desi Bling

Upcoming reality series Desi Bling tracks the ultra-wealthy Indian elite in Dubai. Featuring icons like billionaire Rizwan Sajan and actors Karan Kundrra and Tejasswi Prakash, the show promises high-stakes drama, shifting alliances, and an extravagant look at the success and power of Dubai’s expat society.

Accused

Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, Accused is a 2026 psychological thriller starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta. Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, the London-set drama follows a queer doctor facing career-ending allegations, exploring moral ambiguity, societal judgment, and the strain on her marriage.

A New Frontier for Regional Storytelling

2026 marks a major push into the South Indian market. Netflix unveiled its first Telugu original series, Super Subbu, starring Sundeep Kishan.

In Tamil, the slate includes Legacy, a crime saga led by R. Madhavan, and #Love, a modern dating-app rom-com starring Aishwarya Lekshmi and Arjun Das.

Moreover, Made in Korea is a heartwarming cross-cultural drama starring Priyanka Mohan and Park Hye-Jin. Directed by R.A. Karthik, it follows a small-town Tamil girl’s journey of self-discovery and resilience after landing in South Korea.

The Dark Side of Comedy

Rounding out the diverse slate are experimental projects like Maa Behen, a darkly comic thriller starring Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri, where a mother-daughter trio must cover up a crime in their own kitchen.

Vikrant Massey will headline Musafir Cafe, a reflective love story about second chances, while Bhuvan Bam brings back his iconic characters for Dhindora Season 2.

This massive 2026 lineup is the result of high-profile collaborations with India’s premier production houses, including Dharma Productions, Maddock, Red Chillies Entertainment, Jio Studios, and T-Series.

Netflix is also deepening its roots in South Indian cinema through strategic partnerships with powerhouses such as Hombale Films, Mythri Movie Makers, and Raaj Kamal Films International.

As Netflix enters its second decade in India, its mission remains focused on the infinite potential of local storytelling, working with visionary creators to deliver bold, high-quality entertainment to audiences nationwide. Stay tuned for more updates.
