The month of December has passed and we are already in the new year of 2025. The month had very clear effects of winters as the slate shrunk and there was no appreciable original from the platform. We will analyse them in detail but let’s not forget to acknowledge every important title that we saw on the platform last month.
Original Films
Yo Yo Honey Singh Famous
Original Series
Mismatched Season 3
Licensed Films
Amaran, Jigra, , Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
Analysis
Yo Yo Honey Singh Famous. This name strikes a chord with everyone who has lived through the early 2010s. Honey Singh was everywhere in music, films and buzz. The documentary is meant to shed light on the life and workings of Yo Yo Honey Singh and it does so. However, it also failed to generate any hype. The film is an utter failure to bring out the excitement of the people.
Next up in line is Mismatched Season 3. It is not some extraordinary thing in any aspect but it received a phenomenal reception on Netflix. The series got featured in global Top 10 shows in non-English languages and it is indeed an appreciable thing.
Among licensed films, let’s first acknowledge Lucky Bhaskar. Although it came to Netflix in late November it really ruled the platform. It emerged a huge huge success and didn’t let any other film steal the spotlight.
Then comes Amaran, Jigra and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which were more than decent films in terms of audience reactions.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Thangalaan and Sorgovaasal are not the kind of films that would generate much hype and they indeed couldn’t do much.
For December, Netflix India deserves nothing more than 5 out of 10.
