Prasar Bharati Targets Fresh Collection After Launch!

Headquartered in New Delhi, the primary role of broadcasting company Prasar Bharati is to safeguard citizen’s rights to to informed truthfully about matter of general public interest, either pertaining to international news or the national counterpart.

To further that notion, perhaps, the company announced the launch of an entirely family-friendly OTT platform, back in 2023. The platform, speculated to be launched soon, has now invited proposals to source already produced programmes on a standardized license fee/royalty. This is aimed at garnering a collection based off of fresh perspectives for the newly announced platform.

Moreover, it is focused at increasing the amount as well as the quality of content on its various digital and linear platforms. This will directly impact the traffic on the platform by leading the numbers positively. Under the invitation, applications from rights owners, i.e company/partnership firms/proprietary firms/ producer have been called for.

These proposals will then be processed diligently as per the guidelines mentioned in its recently released Content Sourcing Policy. Moreover, the programmes submitted must adhere to the Programme Code of Prasar Bharati, in addition to other guidelines formulated by the government.

Being processed on a first-come-first-serve basis until October 20, the suggested programmes must either be ready-made or already produced, but not older than 3 years from the date of release of the application, i.e. September 21. They must also not have premiered or been showcased on any other digital platform or TV network.
