Prime Video’s 55 Title Slate Feels Hollow After This

In 2022, Amazon Prime Video announced a slate of just four titles. In 2026, the platform has returned with a much bigger plan of 55 shows and films. This shows how strongly it wants to grow in India. But at the same time, one missing project is itching in the eyes.

That project is Gulkanda Tales, created by Rahi Anil Barve, who is known for the film Tumbbad. The show was announced in 2022 and was expected to be one of the most unique Indian series. It had a strong cast and was made on a large scale. It also took several years to complete.

The problem is that the show is still not released. Perhaps it never will be. Reason? There might be elements in the series that Prime Video is not confident about. Naturally, they are just trying to evade whatever controversy they can, and that is why Rahi Anil Barve’s years of passionate work is sitting in a room.

There are also concerns about how the show might be received by audiences today. Because of this, the platform just shelved it altogether.

Barve has said that he spent years working on this project, yet he cannot even share a single image from it. For many viewers, this is the most disappointing part. While Prime Video is announcing bigger plans, a finished show like Gulkanda Tales are a painful bite to swallow.

That is the reason the recent slate of 55 titles is so hollow because we don’t know how many of them will be available for people to watch.
