Analysis
You can see how incredibly dry the month of December 2025 was on Prime Video. There is practically nothing to analyse, but since we have to do it, let’s do it. The very popular Four More Shots Please Season 4 marked the end of the franchise. It was extremely popular among the urban section of society, which liked the concept and the presentation of its quirky characters.
But if we look at it critically, the show is absolutely not worth it. Yes, it offers an entertainment factor, but it does not engage you in anything lasting. You watch it, and after a few moments, it simply passes behind you. For the rest of the audience, it feels like torture. So while it is very popular among certain sections, it fails to connect with many others. Thankfully, the show is now over, and we will not get more of Four More Shots Please.
There was no original film, and thus, we don’t have anything to analyse.
Coming to licensed films, Prime Video usually adds and removes a large number of titles. So, we are going to talk about only a handful of new and important licensed films. The first was a Tamil movie called Nanna Malli Rava. It was a well-made film but failed to garner much attention due to a lack of strong promotion. Also, because it was on RENT.
The second release was Thamma, starring Rashmika Mandanna, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. This film, from the Stree Universe, or the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, became the centre of attention for the entire month. It was moderately successful in theatres but could not reach the level of success achieved by Munjya and Stree 2. Still, it was a decent watch, and fans of the horror comedy universe wanted to stay connected with whatever new was coming next.
Next was a Telugu film titled Jatadhara, which also featured Sonakshi Sinha. The film was absolutely terrible. Very little can be said about its merit because there was none. It was ridiculous and widely disliked, becoming a subject of mass trolling, and for good reason.
Overall, there was almost nothing in December 2025 on Prime Video India that truly stood out. Yes, Nanna Malli Rava was a good film, but once again, it is still on RENT so we can’t consider it much. December is a month when many people are on holiday, staying at home and looking for quality entertainment. Prime Video was an utter failure in delivering that, especially in terms of Indian content. There was no original film, and even the series releases were poorly timed. A popular returning franchise or a strong original could have made a difference, but instead, December 2025 turned out to be deeply disappointing for Prime Video India.
We would like to give 1/10 to Prime Video India for their slate in December 2025.
