Prime Video’s Repetitive Formula Plagues Do You Wanna Partner

Prime Video is back with another shiny urban drama titled Do You Wanna Partner?. The show stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty as two best friends who decide to start a craft beer business. It has all the ingredients we have come to expect from the platform’s late year releases. There is friendship, hustle, ambition, and of course the clash with a male dominated world. It is colorful, breezy and made to look inspiring.

The problem is that this recipe is starting to feel overused. We saw women trying to claim their space in Made in Heaven. We saw it again in Call Me Bae. We even saw it in Waack Girls. Each time the setup changes but the formula remains the same. Women step into a difficult industry, face barriers, and fight their way to success with charm and wit. At first it was refreshing. Now it is looking predictable.

This does not mean the new show will not be entertaining. Tamannaah and Diana have chemistry that can hold attention. The trailer has energy and the theme of jugaad will resonate with many viewers. But if Prime Video wants to keep its audience surprised, it must think beyond glossy stories of empowerment. Urban India has many other tales waiting to be told. The platform has the resources and talent to take risks. A little more freshness and a little less formula could turn the next release into something truly memorable.
