Last week, if you remember, we had about 15 odd series/films to mention. This week when we have the festivities, Dussehra and even Gandhi Jayanti, there is literally a scarcity of titles. There simply aren’t enough titles to watch. Anyway, we have selected 8 important titles that you can watch.
13th: Some Lessons Aren’t Taught In Classrooms
“13th: Some Lessons Aren’t Taught In Classrooms” will start streaming on October 1 on Sony LIV. In the series, Ritesh leaves a high-paying venture capital job to support his old mentor MT Sir. He joins MT Sir’s ed-tech venture and follows his ambitious vision beyond traditional classrooms. This is a really promising series that can eventually become very celebrated.
Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9
“Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9” begins on October 5 on JioHotstar. Vijay Sethupathi returns as the host. The show traps a mix of celebrities and common people in a house for about 100 days where they face tasks, nominations, and evictions in front of the public.
Madharaasi
“Madharaasi” premieres on October 1 on Prime Video. The plot follows Raghu, who suffers from Fregoli delusion and suicidal thoughts, as he is recruited by an injured NIA officer Premnath. Raghu goes undercover to infiltrate a powerful syndicate smuggling firearms into Tamil Nadu, risking everything despite his fragile mental health. Prime Video has done moderate promotions for this movie and we are not sure how it will come out to be received.
Maine Pyar Kiya
“Maine Pyar Kiya” arrives on October 3 on Lionsgate Play. Nidhi, shy and bound by family expectations, meets Aryan who loves football. Their romance grows, but Aryan gets pulled into the dangerous Madurai underworld. The story becomes a blend of love, sacrifice, and action.
Monster: The Ed Gein Story
“Monster: The Ed Gein Story” was released on October 3 on Netflix. It follows Ed Gein in 1950s rural Wisconsin as he lives reclusive with a disturbing obsession fueled by his late mother. The show traces his descent into gruesome crimes that inspired later horror villains.

“Play Dirty” shows up on October 1 on Prime Video. Parker, a professional burglar who uses old-school methods, plans a daring heist with his team including Grofield and Zen. The job becomes ruthless and dangerous when mob forces and powerful enemies get involved.

“Steve” drops on October 3 on Netflix. The film is set in a reform school in mid-1990s England and unfolds in one day. Steve, the worn-out principal, fights his own issues to protect his students as a documentary crew adds tension and the unstable backgrounds of the boys come into focus.
The Game: You Never Play Alone
“The Game: You Never Play Alone” will start streaming on October 2 on Netflix. It stars a game creator whose life is shattered after a brutal assault and whose real life and virtual life begin to blur. She seeks justice and truth while navigating dark family secrets and high tech dangers. It is the first ever full scale Tamil series by Netflix India and the promotions have been disappointing to say the least.
