Yash Raj Films is one of the most important film companies in India. Forget about the importance, YRF along with Dharma used to be the two main governing points of Bollywood in the pre-COVID era. The choice of films that Dharma chose to produce did not sit well with the audiences so that part is now lost.
However, Yash Raj Films is more powerful and relevant in today’s time. The reason?
YRF Spy Universe.
We also appreciate the fact that YRF understood the changes in time and chose to make it big in the OTT industry.
But, things are not going well with YRF’s OTT game. You see, they debuted on OTT with The Railway Men. It was a good debut. They brought us The Romantics which was also a decent one-time watch documentary.
But, there is practically nothing appreciable after that.
Maharaj was a terrible film. It might have gained some views but the overall film has no re-watch value.
The next film is Vijay 69. Now, we don’t know how this “102 Not Out” looking film will come out to be. But, this is not something the masses would wanna watch.
Yash Raj Films has a history of making films that people love to watch and associate themselves with. But, it looks like the entire focus is only and only on one franchise.
We definitely believe that YRF needs to ramp up their OTT game.
