Laghushanka is the story of the bride Shruti. She suffers from a rare condition that doesn’t allow her to hold pee. Shruti, even at such an age still wets her bed at the night. Will she marry the groom without letting him know about the unusual predicament? How does the family react when they know about it?
The impeccable casting of the various family members is first and foremost reason one is engaged to the proceedings. Vaibhav Vishant has done an amazing job of getting the right actors for the parts. The way they all chip in with their views and heighten the tension through their words show the makings of a confident director in Nikhil Mehrotra.
Kanupriya Pandit and Narottam Baid are terrific. The rest are also excellent but they stand out along with Rita Agarwal.
The writing, also by Nikhil, is fantastic, as well. The combination of writing and terrific casting of actors who delivers the lines impeccably is where Laghushanka leaves its mark. They all make the script come alive within a short duration.
If you want a short but strong bout of a feel-good dose, look no further and check out Laghushanka.
