It is a dystopian thriller and drama series. Three seasons of the series have released, and now, the new season 4 has released. 3% tells the story of a dystopian future when the country is ridden with poverty, and most of the population lives in extreme squalor in the ‘Inland’. Only a select privileged lot of people live in the ‘Offshore’, a veritable paradise, where there is no poverty, only prosperity and luxury. Every year, the 20 year olds of the Inland are allowed a chance to become the privileged citizens of the Offshore, after passing a series of tests, called as the ‘Process’. The limitation is that only the best 3% of the candidates make it to the Offshore. The rest are simply eliminated. Michele is a smart young woman, who has no family. She was raised by her brother who disappeared after participating in the Process. Michele succeeds in being one of the 3% that gains entry into the Offshore. There is also an underground revolutionary group called ‘The Cause’, that is working to overthrow this oppressive dystopian system. Season 4 of the series takes up from where it left off in Season 3, with another girl called Joana leading a rebellion against the Offshore along with her band of rebels.
