Homecoming is a conspiracy thriller that premiered in 2018, and is returning with its Season 2 this month. Season 1 of Homecoming introduced viewers to a shady government program that supposedly helps war returnees deal with the trauma of war and the resultant Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Called the Homecoming Initiative, it is an organisation handled by the shady Geist Group, which, under the guise of giving them PTSD meds, is actually injecting war veterans with a drug that deletes their memories, all so that the government can’t redeploy them. This conspiracy is uncovered by Julia Roberts’ character in Season 1. Janelle Monáe is the primary protagonist in Season 1. She takes over from Julia Roberts as lead, whose character arc playing Heidi Bergman ended with Season 1. In Season 2, Janelle Monáe’s plays a woman who has no memory of who she is. As she tries to piece together her identity, she unravels clues that lead her to the shady Geist Group. She digs deeper into the mystery to discover even more startling truths. In the meanwhile, a war veteran, Walter Cruz (Stephan James), who had his memory erased in the first season, begins to get back snatches of his memory, along with the premonition that all is not right at the sinister Homecoming Initiative and Geist Group. Whether the two come together to get to the bottom of the conspiracy forms the rest of the story.
