The Eddy is a French – English musical drama series set in the backdrop of Paris and centred on a struggling Paris Jazz club. Elliot Udo (André Holland) is a talented jazz pianist from New York City, and is the owner of the failing Jazz Club. Elliot struggles with the daily grapples and chaos of running a venue that hosts live performances, along with a lot of issues in his emotional and love life. He is commitment phobic, and at the same time, someone who lacks emotional maturity. He is engaged in an on-and-off relationship with the lead singer of his house band (Joanna Kulig), but doesn’t want to commit to a long term relationship. Things turn upside down for him when his 15-year-old daughter Julie (Amandla Stenberg) turns up on his doorstep. The father and daughter equation makes for rousing emotional drama in the midst of the musical drama, and acts as the catalyst that Elliot needs to finally look beyond his needs and grow up for good
