The story revolves around Subramani, a curmudgeonly, very conservative widower, who wants his son Adithya, a robotic engineering graduate, by his side all the time. The latter rebels one day when he gets an offer to work for a robotics firm in Germany. With none of the caretakers lasting long, thanks to Subramani’s cantankerous nature, Adithya finally brings home a prototype robot to look after his father.
After resenting it initially, Subramani gradually starts to grow fond of Kuttappa, as the machine gets named by the villagers, and at one point, becomes obsessively attached, treating it as his own son. An alarmed Adithya, who knows the risks posed by the robot, returns home to make his father realize the danger, but can he convince the old man before it is too late?
