The film is based on the Pothanur post office and a mishap that happens there, and how a protagonist comes together with a plan to set things straight and get it done for himself.
Pothanur Thabal Nilayam is set in 1990 in Pothanur, in the Post Office, and follows the story of a computer-obsessed man who plans to steal money from the Post Office to start a computer business. Ambitious entrepreneur Praveen who has only 36 hours to find stolen money to save his family.
