Suraj Pe Mangal Bhaari is a satirical comedy movie which has been directed by Abhishek Sharma. The movie became one of the first films to get a theatrical release after the theatres were re-opened with a 50% occupancy due to the pandemic. Suraj Pe Mangal Bhaari has been written by Shokhi Banerjee and Rohan Shankar.

Synopsis

The movie is set in the 90s and follows a Punjabi man named Suraj Singh Dhillon, a bachelor currently looking for a suitable girl to marry. But despite his countless efforts, he hasn’t been successful in making a good impression in front of any girls’parents. Eventually he impresses a family but his joys are short-lived because several photographs of him while drinking alcohol is mailed to the girl’s house.

Suraj finds out that there is a self proclaimed detective named Madhu Mangal Rane who follows bachelor men and captures their bad habits with his camera and rats them to the society. Things angers Suraj and he decides to find out about Mangal and confront him.
He starts to date Tulsi, who afterall is the sister of Mangal Rane. This creates a chaos between the family and a cat and mouse situation between Suraj & Mangal. Who comes out as the winner in this hilarious battle of wits?
