A Tamil drama that merges emotions, caste and class tussles and the futility of war to create a powerful narrative. The title of the movie translates as The last grenade of World War II, and focuses on a simple lorry driver named Selvam, who is treated with disdain by his upper-class employer, and also by his lover Chitra’s family. Determined to strike out on his own, he takes up a job to transport a load of scrap which, unknown to him, has an explosive cargo hidden in its midst – an unexploded World War II bomb, which is being hunted by vested interests. The movie is a sensitive indictment of discrimination based on class and caste, along with propagating peace and love. The movie has been directed by debutant director Athiyan Athirai, and produced by Pa. Ranjith under his banner Neelam Productions. Starring Attakathi Dinesh and Anandhi in the lead roles, besides Riythvika, Munishkanth, Anekha and Ramesh Thilak in povital roles.
