The Boys premiered it’s maiden season during July 26th last year on Amazon Prime. It is based of the comic book series of the same name which was written and developed by Gareth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The comics was originally published by DC Comics before moving to Dynamite Entertainment. The Superhero Web series is set in an alternate world in 2019 where superheroes are celebrities. They have online followers, PR teams and can represent different states or cities as their icons (or mascots). The biggest and the most famous group among them, ‘The Seven’ is the most beloved in the country and they are owned by the conglomerate Vought International. But nothing is what it seems. The show delves into what realistically could happen when there are super-humans walking among us. Superheros start abusing their powers and their benefactors, which are usually huge corporations, clean up after them. And that is the running theme in the series. We enter this world from the point of view of two people, Hughie Campbell, a normal human being and Annie January, an aspiring idealistic superhero. Hughie just witnessed his fiance being run through (and subsequently killed) by A-Train, a famous speedster superhero from The Seven, who was chasing some criminals at the time. Annie (Starlight is the name of her crime-fighting alter-ego) gets inducted into The Seven after a member retires. She is quickly shown her naivety after she faces an extremely deplorable situation. Starring: Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Kapon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell and Elisabeth Shue. Developed by Eric Kripke
