The multiple award winning sequel to the one of the best animated series ever released Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra is going to be available on Netflix for digital viewing. It was created for Nickelodeon and aired on television from April 14th 2012 till December 19th 2014.
The series is set in a fictional world where some people have to ability to ‘bend’ the elements of water, earth, fire or air. Only one person known as the ‘Avatar’ has the ability to bend all four elements and that person is tasked with the responsibility to maintain balance in the world. The Legend of Korra is set 70 years after the event of The Last Airbender.
After Avatar Aang defeated Fire Lord Ozai, he works with his friends to create a new United Republic with it’s capital called Republic City, a place where benders and non-benders can live together in harmony. The show picks up after Aang dies, the Avatar is reborn in Korra and the cycle begins.
The Legend of Korra hasn’t received as much love as The Last Airbender. But unlike the one dimensional Fire Lord Ozai from the the original Avatar series, The Legend of Korra has much more complex villains with empathetic ideologies.
Voicing Cast: Janet Varney, David Faustino, P. J. Byrne, J. K. Simmons, Seychelle Gabriel, Mindy Sterling, Kiernan Shipka and Dee Bradley Baker.
