Trial 4

Trial 4, a Netflix original docu-series is streaming online, watch on Netflix, streaming on 11th November.

Plot

Trial 4 is a documentary based on the life of Sean K Ellis who was falsely accused of murdering officer Mulligan and sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Trial 4 unearths the systemic racism and corruption inside the system. It chronicles the journey of Sean Ellis, a troubled teenager who had the misfortune of being at the wrong place at the wrong time and his race and colour played a big part in the accusations that were levelled against him.

Trial 4 shows us glimpses of both sides as you hear the prosecutor vehemently protest that Sean Ellis was innocent while there are still some people who are confident that Sean indeed was the killer and there wasn’t any coverup. Based on exculpatory evidence, Sean Ellis is looking to prove his innocence and clear his name of a crime which he says he did not commit. This is his 4th trial in court which is where the documentary gets its name.
