Valeria

Valeria is a Spanish language series, centred on a writer who lives life in the glitzy world of high society Madrid. She is stuck in an unhappy marriage, along with going through a lot of issues in her life. She is unemployed, suffering from writer’s block, as well as married to a person who doesn’t share her passions nor understands her. Yet, she hides all her happiness under a facade of happiness and contentment. The only people who know what she’s really going through are her three friends, who offer unwavering support to her, despite going through tough times in their own lives. The series, based on Spanish author Elísabet Benavent’s ‘Valeria’, is a powerful indictment of the materialistic and artificial world we all inhabit, in the name of modernity and emancipation. It also focuses on the bond of friendship between grown women, a bond that every woman needs to go through life and its many travails.
