Velvet Nagaram, is Tamil language thriller starring Varu Sarathkumar in the central role. The movie hit the screens on March 6th, 2020 to mostly below par critical response.
Usha (Varalaxmi) is a journalist who is friends with actress Gauri (Kasturi). The latter is vocal about her support for a tribal community which is facing many hardships for decades. There is a prominent political nexus behind the entire struggle. One day Gauri is found murdered.
As Usha is a close friend, and also a journalist, she sets out an investigation to unfold the mystery behind the killing of Gauri. She takes the help of friend Priya and her husband Pradeep for the same. In what looks like an unrelated event, Pradeep is attacked by goons. It turns big, and more of them come for him and also his wife and Usha.
It becomes clear that the gangster and their goons are after the real target, Usha. They are related to the killing of Gauri. How Usha evades them and finds the killer is the core plot of the movie.
Manoj Kumar Natarajan directed the thriller Velvet Nagaram. Ramesh Thillak, Kasturi, Prakash Raghavan, Mugilan and others play vital roles in the movie.
