Prabhu Deva is ready to rock the system with his newest project titled Petta Rap which has already been in the news since its teaser came out. Vijay Sethupathi did the honors and presented the film’s first official teaser back in June. The makers recently unveiled the trailer for the film which showcases Prabhu Deva being an all-rounder throughout the film.
SJ Sinu, who is well known for directing Malayalam movies like Theru (2023) and Djibouti (2021), makes his directorial debut in Tamil with this movie. Prabhu Deva, Vedhika, Vivek Prasanna, Bagavathi Perumal, and Kalabhavan Shajohn are the film’s main cast members with a special cameo from Sunny Leone.
The song “Petta Rap” from Prabhu Deva’s Kadhalan (1994), composed by A. R. Rahman, served as the inspiration for the movie’s title. It’s interesting to note that the music was altered for this movie.
The plot of the film revolves around the lives of Janaki, a middle-class girl who wants to be a pop singer, and Bala, a young middle-class youngster who wants to be an action star in Tamil movies. Petta Rap features editing by Nishad Yusuf and cinematography by Jithu Damodhar, with music composed by D Imman. The movie, which is slated to open in theaters on September 27th, is produced by Jobi P Sam.
Only time will tell if Prabhu Deva will be able to deliver an all-rounder performance as he promises to steal the show on September 27th.
