‘RRR: Behind & Beyond’: May Not Be Too Little, But Definitely Too Late!

‘12th Fail’ came out earlier this year and won hearts. In a couple of days makers of the film are bringing its BTS story in the form of ‘Zero Se Restart’, a documentary film in the theatres. Now, we have news of a documentary film about the making of ‘RRR’, one of the biggest films of Indian cinema in recent times.

Directed by iconic filmmaker SS Rajamouli, ‘RRR’ released in 2022 and was a massive blockbuster success around the globe. One of its songs (Naatu Naatu) even went on to receive an Academy Award, making ‘RRR’ the first and only Indian feature film to win an Oscar.

It’s a film loved by many and surely people would love to know what went behind the scenes and how it all happened. But isn’t it a bit too late for such a documentary?

It’s more than 2 years since the film came out and the hype for the film has almost died down. No one has talked about ‘RRR’ in a long time, so why would it interest them to watch a documentary on the same now.

Moreover, audience is more piqued about ‘Pushpa 2’ currently, which is roaring in cinemas across the nation. Right or wrong, everyone seems to have an opinion on it. And amidst all this chatter about a massy entertainer, a documentary might feel a little too boring.

Set to come out this December, it hasn’t been revealed if ‘RRR: Behind And Beyond’ will release in theatres or have a digital premiere. If former’s the case, it will make the documentary even more neglected given the presence of ‘Pushpa 2’ and the upcoming anticipated film ‘Baby John’.

Certainly, the timing isn’t perfect for ‘RRR: Behind And Beyond’ and it would have been much better if it came out a bit early when the craze for the film was still alive.
