Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran Flies With BB3 and Singham Again At Worldwide Box Office

On the day of its eagerly anticipated release, the military biopic Amaran, which starred Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, shattered box office records in Tamil Nadu. Based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, the movie has received numerous accolades from reviewers.

It became the highest-grossing Sivakarthikeyan film to date with a first-day gross of Rs 21 crore net on Diwali. Given the excitement and anticipation among fans, which was increased following the first teasers and promotional materials, this was to be expected from the movie.

On its third day, the military drama joined the exclusive Rs 100 crore global club. The film has the potential to gross Rs 200 crore during its whole run. It only needs to endure during the week. In Tamil Nadu, Monday will see the overflow of the weekend, and Tuesday will reveal the true trend of the movie.

Looking at the worldwide box office gross, the film is ranked at number 7 on the top 10 list earning a worldwide gross of more than $14M. It is right behind the top dogs released this weekend like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again.

Ruling the list is Tom Hardy’s Venom: The Last Dance and a regional film like Amaran being on the list shows how dominant and firm grip the film has over the Indian audience.

Even though Diwali is not the primary holiday weekend for a major film release in the Tamil and Telugu states, Amaran’s bumper opening and growth suggest that the movie has been favorably accepted by viewers. It will be interesting to see if the movie maintains its dominance and holds at the box office in the upcoming weeks.
