The much-anticipated movie from the Tamil film industry, ‘Thug Life’ is all set to join next year. When will it join the big screens? What can it deliver? What are its surprises going to be?
‘Thug Life’ is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action-drama film directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote the script with Kamal Haasan. It is jointly bankrolled by R. Mahendran for Raaj Kamal Films International, Maniratnam for Madras Talkies, and Siva Ananth for Red Giant Movies.
As per the date reveal glimpse, the flick is expected to be a popcorn entertainer with compelling international quality in stunt sequences, production design, as well as swag, and style. With no less in expectation, Ulaganayakan Kamal Hassan will be the star attraction of the film.
Furthermore, the narrative will concentrate more on the plot with a blend of subtlety in the character arc, even that of other roles apart from the main lead. However, the references to several Japanese as well as Hollywood movies are slightly visible.
Director Maniratnam has previously attempted an action-drama named ‘Chekkam Chivantha Vaanam’ (Eng. Crimson Red Sky) where this effort could be a different treatment albeit being the same genre.
Another important hype for the movie is the character name of Ulaga Nayakan that is ‘Rangaraya Sakthivel Naykkar’ where the middle and surname are from the director-actor duo’s previous cult classic ‘Nayakan’, which was a crime drama.
The technical labour includes the handling of cinematography by Ravi K Chandran, editing overseen by A Sreekar Prasad, and music as well as background scores composed by A R Rahman respectively.
An ensemble cast of actors Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Ashok Selvan, Pankaj Tripathi, Nassar, Abhirami Gopikumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf and Vaiyapuri will be playing important roles to the film.
The movie is expected to be released worldwide on the 5th of June next year and stay tuned in Binged for more updates regarding ‘Thug Life’.
