If a film being released this weekend were to make the audience question whether or not they should go for the highly anticipated ‘Devara: Part One’, it is the Karthi and Arvind Swamy starrer Tamil-language film ‘Meiyazhagan’.
While it debuted to positive feedback ahead of its theatrical release yesterday, it has finally premiered in theatres. Unsurprisingly, the film has released to a warm response from fans despite earlier speculation that it might not do all that well considering that it was being released parallel to ‘Devara’.
The film has seemingly succeeded in invoking the feelings of nostalgia and reminiscence in its viewers as it transports them back to their childhood, all while capturing the beauty of complex familial ties and conflicts. More than that, it somewhat achieves its primary goal: to make the audience feel good.
Many are also calling the film a rare perfect bromance. As of now, the film has reportedly earned around Rs.1.53 Crore across various screenings in the country. While this statistic may not establish it as one of the highest Kollywood openers of the year, the film has cemented itself as one of the best ones helmed throughout this year!
