Kadaisi Ulaga Por, a recent Tamil dystopian science-fiction film, was released in theatres on 20th September 2024. The Tamil language release was not received well by the audience and the film suffered a poor fate. After a few days, the film was released in Hindi dub and still the response was the same. Now the film is about to be released on OTT and the makers can think of no alternative fate for the film.
The film talks about the year 2028, China declares a war on United Nations for global control, the war directly affects India. The conflict takes the shape of a World War that takes place in the state of Tamil Nadu. The political conflicts, aftermath of the international truffles, and war have all been beautifully depicted in the film. The film could have been a really famous one if the strategy around it was good.
Due to bad marketing and poor releasing strategy, the film failed in the theatres. The makers released the Hindi dub version quite late which also affects a film’s collection. Hindi language accounts for almost the same amount of collection as the original language of the film. Being late in Hindi release, limits the film’s audience by a large margin.
Now the makers are committing the same mistake with their OTT release as well. The makers are using zero strategies to market the film. Many people aren’t even aware of the film’s existence. If a film’s marketing is not done properly, it definitely loses the viewership it had gotten. Added to that, the makers will release the Hindi version of the film late in the OTT platforms as well. This becomes quite surprising as makers are repeating the same mistake they committed on the theatrical release of the film.
Thus, bad strategy and lack of marketing will ruin the popularity of Kadai Ulaga Por in the OTT platform; as it did in the theatrical releases. The film will see the same fate many have seen with the same issue of bad marketing.
