The release of Kanguva is here. There are many delays and many problems but Kanguva is shining bright. It is a highly promising title and the movie has an insane buzz.
Starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, the movie faces a legal roadblock just days before its scheduled release on November 14.
There are reports that Reliance Entertainment has filed a lawsuit against the film’s producer, K.E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, over an unpaid loan.
According to Reliance, Raja borrowed ₹99.22 crore to fund the films Teddy (2021) and Thangalaan (2024) but has only returned ₹45 crore. Reliance Entertainment is now demanding the remaining ₹55 crore, accusing Raja of contract violation. As part of the lawsuit, Reliance has requested the Chennai High Court to halt Kanguva’s release and prevent the OTT release of Thangalaan until payments are settled.
In response, Studio Green assured the court that Kanguva won’t release before its planned date, and Thangalaan won’t be available for streaming until further notice. The court, led by Justice Kumaresh Babu, has postponed the case hearing to November 7.
It will be a massive setback to the fans if Kanguva gets delayed and there has to be severe outrage. But, let’s wait to see how things go.
