Will this ‘Boat’ Be Able To Sync With The OTT Audience?

The trend in which the fate of movies might seem extreme on two different platforms is not a novel thing. There are many such examples to enumerate. Nevertheless, this upcoming movie to the digital platform is still a confusing aspect of whether it will sink or sync with the audiences.

‘Boat’ is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language survival drama film written and directed by Chimbu Deven. Prabha Premkumar, C.Kalaivani, and the director himself produce the movie for Maali and Maanvi Movie Makers and Chimbu Devan Entertainment respectively.

The technical wing includes the handling of cinematography by Madhesh Manickam, editing done by Dinesh Ponraj, and music composed by Ghibran. The film stars actors Yogi Babu and Gouri G. Kishan as the main leads with actors M. S. Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Jesse Fox-Allen, Chaams, Jangiri Madhumitha, Sha Ra, Kulappulli Leela, Aakshath Das in supporting roles.

The theatrical release on the 2nd of August had average to mixed responses from its audiences which couldn’t provide the expectations for the film. However, the performances and a distinctive story idea can be a watchable factor despite the limitations in works like narrative and technical aspects.

Furthermore, the lack of constructing a solid survival drama is not visible or beyond its thought. It also puts umpteen loopholes and dilemmas. Above all, it can be a one-time watchable flick for its approach and style.

The movie will be released on the 1st of October on the Amazon Prime Video OTT Platform.
