Did Nationalised Chains Help GOAT To Get A Boost On Netflix

From the bone chilling title card to countless massy moments, Thalapathy Vijay delivered another massy show with his latest film The Greatest Of All Time. GOAT had massive hype as it was Thalapathy’s second last project before moving to politics for the rest of his life.

For his fans, it was a treat to watch as they witnessed a film solely made to honor Vijay’s legacy and yes it was evident from the title card. Whether it was his young look or an even younger look in the end, the film was a gift for the fans and they opened it with open arms.

The film produced a remarkable box office collection since its debut, drawing a sizable audience claiming it a huge hit for Thalapathy. Vijay’s starrer has already crossed over Rs 460 crores at the box office and is still running strong at various South Indian cities.

Though the film didn’t had a good North Indian collection, thanks to national cinema chains like PVR, INOX and Cinepolis for not releasing the film due to an OTT policy.

After a splendid run at the theatres, it was released on Netflix on October 3rd. As expected, the film has reigned on the top 10 list since then despite facing huge competition.

This huge boost is due to the film’s absence on North India chains which they recovered through Netflix. It was surely a Goated move by the makers as the film is making huge statements globally.

As things stand, the film is globally trending on the platform being on 4th position among non english films. Venkat Prabhu’s directorial has been on a roll since its release on Netflix and continues to dominate the scene.

As Thalapathy prepares for his final project, his fans are showering love to his work and are highly anticipated for witnessing the GOAT one last time in Thalapathy 69.
