'Pechi' One-Time-Watch Film Is A Moodboard Of Mixed Reviews!

Sure, films come and films go. But there are those selected, rare few that leave a lasting impression either for their narrative, stunning visuals, or sometimes even their background scores.

‘Pechi’, a 2024 Indian Tamil-language horror film written and directed by Ramachandran B follows an enthusiastic group of trekkers, who in search of a fun-filled weekend trip, enter into the forests. This is their mistake as they get entrapped in a world of age-old practices such as black magic and witchcraft.

The Gayathri Shanker, Bala Saravanan, and Dev Ramnath starrer, available to stream on Prime Video and Aha, is currently running at #5 in the country at the former. Described by numerous as a decent watch despite weak storytelling, the film seems to stand out for its captivating visuals and cinematography.

More than that, while the overall plotline may be predictive, the jump scares sometimes succeed in catching the audiences off-guard. However, the movie fails to serve as an engaging survival thriller. Mostly, the ending is being hailed by fans as the perfect conclusion to this one-time-watch horror feature.
