We all have a soft spot for love stories. Especially those which stay with us long after the credits have rolled. 96 is one of those films that left its mark on the audience.
Directed by Prem Kumar, this is one of the rare films that perfectly captures nostalgia and love. The actors, Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha delivered some of their best performances and the characters stuck with the viewers.
This onscreen pairing delivered such a fabulous performance that it left the audience waiting for more.
But the wait might soon be over, as the director has hinted at a sequel. 96 was a big hit, so much so that after its release in 2018, people are still talking about it.
During the promotion of his recent film Meiyazhagan, which was also loved by the audience, Prem Kumar revealed how he had no plans for a sequel but watching the love the film is still getting, years after its release, he would plan a sequel to honour the first film.
Unlike the sequels in Bollywood, the audience can only hope that this sequel does justice to the original film and leaves the audience as stunned and teary-eyed as it did the first film.
