Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Thandel’ Locks Release Date & It’s Not Sankranthi

At a press event organised today, makers of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer ‘Thandel’ have launched a motion poster and release date for the film. Helmed by Chandoo Mondeti, ‘Thandel’ will male way to theatres on 7th February, 2025.

 

The motion poster revealing the release date for ‘Thandel’ features the lead stars Naga and Sai as two lovers hugging each other and sharing a blissful moment of love. The film promises action, romance and thrill.

 

It was speculated that ‘Thandel’ was eyeing for Sankranthi release and that would have cemented Naga Chaitanya’s stature as a big star but this latest February 7 release date has left fans a little disappointed who were eagerly anticipating a big Sankranthi release.

 

‘Thandel’ follows a fisherman from Srikakulam who gets caught by the Pakistani forces I’m international waters. How he survives there and whether or not he makes it back to India safely is what the film is about.

 

The film is reportedly inspired from true events that occurred in 2018 when some fisherman by mistake drifted into Pakistani waters. Moreover, the love story angle in the film is also based on one of the fisherman’s, who went through the harrowing experience, own love story.

 

With a story by Kartheek Theeda, ‘Thandel’ is written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti who has earlier worked with Naga Chaitanya on ‘Premam’ and ‘Savyasachi’. This also marks his second film with Sai Pallavi after Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Love Story’.

 

Presented by Allu Aravind, ‘Thandel’ has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The technical crew involves Navin Nooli as editor and Shamdat as cinematographer. Produced by Bunny Vas under Geetha Arts Banner, ‘Thandel’ will release in cinemas on 7th February, 2025.
