Nani’s ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ Deserved More Of The Big Screen?

Nani’s latest release ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ is successfully running in theatres but mostly in the southern states. So if you missed it in cinema and have been meaning to watch it, you will soon be able to stream it on Netflix as the film sets world digital premiere on the global streaming giant on 26th September.

The best part is Netflix is releasing ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi simultaneously, so you don’t need to wait for either of the language options.

‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ is Nani’s second film with Vivek Athreya after ‘Anti Sundaraniki’ and this one continues the streak of hits given by director Athreya who is known for his films like ‘Mental Madhilo’, and ‘Brochevarevurura’.

The film’s trailer itself was impressive and the film did not disappoint the viewers in theatres either. Whether it’s the riveting story, engaging narrative, brilliant performances, exceptional cinematography and editing or the impactful background music, everything works in the film’s favour, offering a visual treat to the audience.

But the question here is whether the South Indian industry standard of only four weeks window between theatrical and digital release killing ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’s’ potential to do even better at the box office?

Probably, yes. ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ is a massy yet entertaining vigilante action drama and is far off from cringe we often see in such masala movies. Despite a novel theme the film creates a sense of intrigue that keeps the viewers hooked throughout. The technical and creative aspects of the film are done really well and it certainly deserved a longer period in theatres.

We can only hope, this 4 week rule is made more flexible and allows worthy cinema their due on the big screens. Until then, it is what it is!
